Most of the money earned by illegal immigrants is sent back to their countries to support their families. Mexicans living in the US send home $7 billion a year, making them Mexico's third largest foreign revenue source after oil and tourism. If illegal immigrants no longer had to skulk through the US legal system, that figure would inevitably rise.
